FEC Applications
Customers in both the commercial and government sectors have selected TrellisWare’s FEC products to address their most difficult applications. Some are attracted to the unparalleled flexibility and the excellent threshold and floor/flare performance, while others like the low complexity and the very high data throughputs. TrellisWare’s F-LDPC performance can suit the needs of many different applications -- regardless of the operating SNR. The figure below shows how an F-LDPC decoder can support any operating SNR by choosing the code rate and the modulation type. The emphasis here is that the same decoder achieves all the curves shown in the diagram.

The flexibility of F-LDPC allows customers to choose the code early in their project/product development stages before they finalize their designs. TrellisWare offers ample support to these customers by providing software models for the encoder and decoder cores before the customer makes a decision, and offering the customer systems analysis expertise on issues ranging from modulation types to bit-widths.
