Harsh Environment Communications

Communications products are typically designed to operate over a specific set of operating environments driven mainly by the needs of their application and cost. As a result, they are implemented as point designs with limited flexibility or adaptability. When these traditional communications products are used in different applications, their performance degrades rapidly.

To operate in harsh communication environments, a solution must be highly flexible and capable of adapting rapidly to changes in the environment. Most solutions can handle connecting at short ranges with line of sight, but what happens when one of your units goes around a corner, or into a subway tunnel, or is on the 12th floor of a building talking to someone in a car driving through downtown? To adapt across this wide of an operating range, the solution must adapt rapidly to the changing conditions.

TrellisWare’s signal processing software takes a fundamentally different approach to communication design. Utilizing trellis-based processing and adaptive iterative detection (AID), TrellisWare’s TopX-powered Physical Layer solutions adjust instantly from benign open channels to harsh multipath and co-channel interference environments. TrellisWare DNA-powered networking products are the only communications product in the world that can offer networked digital voice, streaming video and IP data connectivity robustly across:

  • Tunnels, caves, mines, and bunkers
  • In and around buildings in dense urban areas
  • Cargo vessels to aircraft carriers
  • Raised noise floor environments
  • High dynamic environments such as aircraft and moving vehicles

No expensive towers or infrastructure. No operator configuration. Voice, video and IP data that works everywhere.
