TrellisWare’s Cheetah CUB Product
Awarded 2012 Most Innovative Product
Cheetah CUB MANET Product Recognized for Innovation
SAN DIEGO, Calif., December 7, 2012 – TrellisWare Technologies, a world leader in advanced networked communication products and signal processing innovations, announced today that it has been awarded San Diego CONNECT’s 2012 Most Innovative Product (MIP) for its Cheetah CUB Mobile Ad-hoc Networking unit.
The announcement was made today at the 2012 CONNECT MIP Awards ceremony at the Hilton Torrey Pines La Jolla for the Cheetah CUB’s significant innovations in incorporating patented and patent pending processing techniques into a very small, versatile, fully scalable, wideband Mobile Ad Hoc Networking (MANET) handheld product. TrellisWare’s Cheetah CUB enables push-to-talk voice, IP data, streaming video and location tracking of hundreds or even thousands of units in a completely infrastructureless self-forming, self-healing network. Smaller and more capable than any wideband networked radio of its kind, the CUB unit fits in your pocket and yet with only a handful of units can provide coverage over most large ships, mid-sized downtown urban centers or caves/tunnels.
“San Diego is so well known for the region’s significant contributions in communications with powerhouse companies like Qualcomm and ViaSat. To be considered the most innovative from such a pool is quite humbling,” said Jeff Harris, Vice President of Wireless Systems for TrellisWare after the awards ceremony. “CUB is a testament to what a small, dedicated team of smart engineers can accomplish. We believe our CUB product will cause people to re-think what is possible in infrastructure-less communications and raise their expectations.”
TrellisWare’s CUB product was selected as a finalist by the San Diego CONNECT judging team for a Most Innovative Product (MIP) Awards along with ViaSat and Ethertronics in the Communications and IT category.
